Bauerfeind LordoLoc is a medical device orthosis for stabilizing and relieving the lower back with tension straps. According to the instructions for use, it is used for general acute and chronic lower back pain, as well as moderate degeneration or muscular insufficiency of the spine.
How the orthosis works
Several slim, anatomically shaped spring-steel stays in the back section help straighten the lower back, which, according to Bauerfeind, relieves pain and releases tension. At the same time, the orthosis encircles the torso and supports the entire trunk system. The elastic yet pleasantly firm material provides light resistance during movement and stimulates the stabilizing muscles.
With the tension straps, you determine how much stabilization your back needs, and they can be adjusted at any time while you are wearing the orthosis.
Important to know
According to the instructions for use, LordoLoc should be used as directed by a doctor, fitted by qualified professionals for the individual patient, and worn over a T-shirt or undershirt. The stays can be adjusted by qualified professionals if necessary.
Material composition according to the manufacturer: stainless steel, polyamide (PA), polyurethane (PUR), cotton (CO), polyethylene (PE), elastane (EL), viscose (CV), polyester (PES), and thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU).
Fit and size selection
LordoLoc is available in six sizes in the color Titan. Choose the size according to your body circumference using the size guide:
- Size 1: 70–80 cm
- Size 2: 80–90 cm
- Size 3: 90–100 cm
- Size 4: 100–110 cm
- Size 5: 110–120 cm
- Size 6: 120–130 cm

Use and care
Place the orthosis around your body so that the rods are centered on your back and the pull straps are at the top. Insert your fingers into the hand loops on both sides of the closure and pull the orthosis forward with even force. Press the left half of the closure against your abdomen and pull the right half across until the hook-and-loop fastener can be closed. Then pull both ends of the upper strap forward, adjust the tension as needed, and fasten them. Make sure the entire hook-and-loop surface attaches to the orthosis so that it does not come into contact with clothing or skin.
Close the hook-and-loop fastener before washing. Use mild detergent and a laundry bag, follow the information on the sewn-in label, and do not expose the orthosis to direct heat or cold.
