Bauerfeind ErgoPad Redux Heel 2 is a medical foot orthosis for treating chronic pain in the heel and ankle, as well as heel spurs (plantar fasciitis). According to the instructions for use, it is particularly suitable for casual and everyday shoes, and its applications also include foot misalignments such as flat feet, splay feet, pes valgus and mild high arches.
How the insole works
Under the heel, the insole's synthetic core has a recess that absorbs the impact when you place your foot down, while soft cushioning in the same zone provides rapid pain relief, according to Bauerfeind. The recess continues in a fan shape that relieves pressure on the plantar fascia and the tissue surrounding it.
The insole supports the longitudinal arch of the foot - fallen arches are cited as one of the causes of heel pain - and a slightly cupped heel ring stabilizes your stride.
Materials and comfort
Unlike conventional orthopedic insoles, the ErgoPad Redux Heel 2 is covered with soft polyurethane foam. This makes the insole extra flexible, thin and soft and gentle on the skin, with cushioning both when walking and running.
Material composition according to the manufacturer: modified copolyester (PET), polyurethane (PUR) and polyester (PES).
Fit and size selection
The ErgoPad Redux Heel 2 is selected according to shoe size (EU) and is available in two widths. Narrow is available in sizes 35-42 and Wide is available in sizes 38-48.

Use and care
According to the instructions for use, foot orthoses should always be worn in pairs, in suitable shoes and with socks. The right and left insoles are marked on the underside. If the insoles do not fit in the shoe, they can be trimmed: place the shoe's own insole on top as a template, with the heel sections aligned edge to edge, trace around it and cut - taking off too little at a time is better than too much.
Clean by hand with soap and lukewarm water and allow to air-dry. Do not machine-wash the insoles, and do not use heat sources such as radiators, hair dryers, or direct sunlight.
